Meet Your Teachers, Ennis and Claire
Ennis Ćehić is a writer of fiction and non-fiction whose work explores displacement, creativity and capitalism, often through satire, absurdism and meta-fiction. His debut collection of stories, Sadvertising, published by Penguin Random House in 2022, has been hailed as an ‘electrifying and genre-defying new voice in Australian fiction’.
Claire Thomas is a writer from Naarm/Melbourne. Her novel, The Performance, was published internationally in 2021, and was longlisted for the Miles Franklin Literary Award and shortlisted for the Christina Stead Prize for Fiction in the NSW Premier's Literary Awards. Her debut novel, Fugitive Blue, won the Dobbie Award for Women Writers and was longlisted for the Miles Franklin. Claire’s third novel, On Not Climbing Mountains, is forthcoming in 2026. Claire holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne and has worked as a mentor, lecturer, supervisor, and teacher for many years.
